I have some solid experience working with SMBs and startups. Early on the bulk of my work has been in the area of food & beverage, but has shifted now more toward tourism entrepreneurship and small businesses. I like to work with individuals or teams and get their foundation set. This can range from labor to sourcing, and certainly marketing. From a college and university perspective, I believe all institutions should have programs dedicated to entrepreneurial pursuits and if possible an incubator program. What a great way to "close the loop" on the theory and projects that we have our students work on. What if we gave them the next step, a place they could hang their startup hat while working their first job? Especially for underrepresented students where the options are still few and far between, any progress in this area is a win.
