• WELCOME

Welcome to the hub for my academic and social action initiatives. The bulk of my time is spent as an academic or college administrator - currently as professor and chair for a hospitality & tourism program in NYC. A portion of my time is dedicated to being the executive director for Hospitalented, an organization committed to fostering global hospitality education. When time allows I advise startups and consult. I invite you to learn more about my work. If you would like to collaborate somehow, please use the links to connect with me or send me an email. -- Damien L. Duchamp, Ed.D

    MEETINGS

    How can I help?

If we should meet to discuss a problem of some kind, the quickest way to make that happen is to contact me via email above.

    INTERVIEWS

    Have a story to tell?

I'm always looking to create good content for my students. Whether you come to class or we do the interview in a studio, this is where we start.

    RESEARCH

    What can we learn?

I am captivated by hospitality and tourism and the impact it can have on different economies. Let's work on something together.

  • CLASSES & COURSES

Over the last 20+ years I have taught over 30 courses focused on hospitality, tourism, marketing, leadership and education - many of which I have designed from scratch or reimagined. I have also developed curricula for institutes and organizations. Here is an example of one of my modules and my teaching style.

  • PROJECTS

These are projects I am passionate about.

    The HospiGo Project

    Education via MicroSD

Each time I visit Ghana I distribute 50-100 microSD cards loaded with tourism education videos and worksheets. The 'HospiPods' require no internet and very little power, and can be passed on to others. The goal is to help those with less access to education a means for becoming tourism entrepreneurs.

    Smarter Trips

Why spend top dollar for the same?

I really want to help people spend less money on travel. This project is all about crowdsourcing information at our fingertips. Everyone gets to contribute, and everyone gets to benefit from the deals we come up with.

    The Path to Ghana

    There's a better way...

Based on my doctoral research, I am writing a book about the tourism industry in Ghana. This is a project intended to improve the accessibility of Ghana for those that are unfamiliar. The website will also be a resource for potential visitors to get information about Ghana.

    The Ghana Alliance

    We can achieve more together.

This project is intended to align those determined to improve Ghana as a whole. The website is a platform for B2B growth and development, helping service providers to connect with tour operators.
